Reviews - June Carter Cash

Keep on the Sunny Side: Her Life In Music
June Carter's only career spanning anthology, released in 2005. It includes many gems from her early performing years and most of her first solo album Appalachian Pride.

The Carter Sisters AND Mother Maybelle with Chet Atkins
A collection of radio transcriptions from 1949 that June recorded with her sisters, mother and guitarist Chet Atkins. It's different from the other album with the same title (they weren't very creative when coming up with album names, were they?)

Wildwood Flower
June Carter's final album Wildwood Flower released posthumously in 2003. It is a very touching album and will make you both laugh and cry (I did anyways).

Press On
June Carter's Grammy winning album Press On released in 1999. Arguably some of June's best material is on this album, including a number of self-penned tracks.

Lousiana Hayride
A collection of live recordings from June's visits to the Louisiana Hayride during the early '60s. One of the very best albums available of June Carter, it really showcases her talents as a singer and a comedian and puts her on the stage where she was at her best.

Appalachian Pride
June's first solo album released in 1975. This set includes the previously unreleased song "Big Balls In Nashville"

Carter Sisters and Mother Maybelle with Chet Atkins
A collection of radio transcriptions recorded in 1949

Chet Atkins, Carter Sisters & Mother Maybelle
A collection of radio transcriptions recorded in 1949

Early June
A collection of songs from June's early radio days and singles recorded in the early to mid fifties. Some tracks include Mother Maybelle, The Carter Sisters, The Carter Family, Chet Atkins and Carl Smith.

The Making of Wildwood Flower
June's son John Carter Cash narrates this commentary on June's last album Wildwood Flower. Included are songs and comments by Johnny Cash, Marty Stuart, Rodney Crowell, John Carter Cash, and June herself.

WNEW Radio Interview with June Carter on June 6, 1999
June's radio interview to promote her album Press On.
Sheryl Crow stops by and June performs a few songs with her band,
The Living Circle Band, and recounts a number of stories.
