bugs me the way people sign off on lyrics they share

it should never say "Lyrics BY.. jennifer" June Carter is the author of those lyrics... Jennifer SHARED them./.. web masters please fix this glaring improper template field... thanks sorry but im a publicist and worked with June and Johnny.. drives me nuts 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

The lyrics page should be fixed now...It took me about 3 hours to do because there are so many lyrics, so i may have missed some. If you find any I missed just let me know :)

Thanks msrobzombie for all of your hard work. I think everyone on this site knew who wrote the lyrics(June not Jennifer) but now there will not confusion and everyone should be happy.

I had mono maybe a month ago, but as of now I feel fine....I'm just extremely busy! I was really only posting a lot in the begining to keep the converstations going, but everything seems to be going well without me having to get involved. Jennifer is a member of the June newsletter that i send out once a month and she also helps me out a lot.

BUT.....Having said that....Anyone who wants to share one of June's many zany remarks should be able to do so ! Is there not a person out that there that hasn't heard the old adage...." Imitation is the best form of flattery"? I myself.... consider myself, to be one of JUNE'S biggest fans. Anyone that knows all these old jokes, poems, and mannerisims and is able to quote them....has to be a huge JUNE fan or they wouldn't know them to begin with ! Another thing to point out... THIS IS A PAGE FOR JUNE CARTER FANS....IF YOU WEREN'T A FAN...YOU WOULDN'T BE HERE !! SO....what better way to keep June's memory alive then to keep these old lines going ? Most of the ones that I have read on here are from after she and Johnny got together and when she was on THE JOHNNY CASH SHOW.....with the exception of the one that someone told that she did with Earnest Tubb. This tells me that not very many people know the ones from her very young years. I know there are a few on here that do.... but...most don't ! I do them all the time and love doing them. YES.... I imitate JUNE... on a regular basis and am proud to be able to do it and will continue to do them..... and for what it's worth.....I think anyone that knows them should be able to share them if they want to. Just don't claim them as your own. Do you find this valuable? |

Sorry, I now believe that I posted my comment on the wrong page and if I did...I'm sorry. It appeared to me that someone was complaining on the JUNE Jokes, Poems and Mannerisim page as that is where I thought I was. I stand by what I said in my post on that page as I think that those zany jokes of June's need to be kept alive ! However...if you are talking about the lyrics to songs.....then...... NO ONE SHOULD BE CLAIMING ANY LYRICS as their own !! I stand corrected and again....I apologize !

Do you have any poems/jokes you could share with us that wasn't performed on the Johnny Cash show? I wasn't alive till the late 80s so I never heard any other poems she did because its hard to find them online without the Johnny Cash influence. Anything you want to share about June BEFORE John would be greatly appreciated. I would love to put more stuff like that on this site.

Ohh and the whole lyric thing was my mistake. I only wrote "written by" to give credit to Jennifer for actually listening to all these songs and writing the words down as she heard them in the song. I wasn't trying to give her credit for creating the song...just actually taking the time to type them all out for us. In my mind it made sense but I see how it could be confusing so thats why I re-worded it. Sorry for the mix up but thanks everyone for letting me know.

Slewfoot it is good hearing from you again. I would like to hear all of your June stories. I think that is one of the things I liked best about June was her humor. I still laugh at her poems. To me they are funny.

I would need to know where you want me to put them and how. But, first you have to learn how to read them. Since you can not hear my voice you have to learn to read them. I use .....short pause.........longer pause, and ..............for the punch line. I know for a fact we do have one among us that can read them perfectly and that is Terry ! She knows how to use her .....key and how to read it ! I will do a couple of them just so you can see what I am talking about. and then you can let me know what you think... Just keep scrolling down. What is Love.....that's a aching heart and burning desire.... Put em together....and.... whadda ya got.........HEARTBURN ! The rabbit's nose is shiny.....I tell you this as a friend... The reason that his nose is shiny.....is....... The powder puff is on the wrong end ! Hey Carl...ole buddy...ole knothead.....you're lucky to be seeing me today. I am ?....why am I so lucky ? I nearly drowned last night.... How'd ya nearly drown last night... Well....you see what happened was.... There was a hole in the mattress and........ I fell in the spring ! To me they are funny. "Hi okiegirl42.... It's good hearing from you again too ! I agree 100%. I loved June's sense of humor in evey way. Those old jokes were just ....silly, corny old jokes BUT....I loved them all and June too ! The 3 that I just did were just short ones so all could get an idea of what I am talking about....as well as to see if anyone else besides Terry is familiar with these. Sometimes ...depending on where I am and the ocassion...I will make up my own but.... they are always done in my "JUNE CARTER MODE" ! I will get out of this little box now and attempt to do a longer one because I know you can only type so many characters at a time. I will just go right into it and see what kind of space I have because some of them are a little long. But first...another thing...there are a few that JUNE, Minnie Pearl, Lonzo & Oscar and Lew Childers all did. Ok...I'll go try a longer one now. Do you find this valuable? |

HEY JUNE....How'd you like that date I got you last night.... That's what I'm talking about !!.... You ortta be ashamed... to even stand there and look at me !.... Why? He got me a blind date last night...he did....and....I'd just as well not seen it myself ! Why...what was wrong? IT... was FAT !!.. F A double X FAT !.. BIG !.....I never saw such a man in my life! Well....You didn't want a little toothpick of a man...did you? Naw !.....But... I didn't want a whole lumber yard niether ! Didn't turn out like it orta had anyway...I was just with him about 10 minutes and I went home....I did. Why....what happened ? Well....you wouldn't want to go out with someone that was stupid, ignorant, ugly, and hard to get along with would you ? No, I don't guess I would. Well.. he didn't neither ! On the section where you play the old videos of June.. such as Today's, .IT'S MY LAZY DAY I know that some of them are on you tube but don't know how many. There is a 12 volume video collection called MEMORIES Grand Ole Opry Stars Of The Fifties (thanks to Terry..I have this collection). There is also a 12 volume video collection called TRIBUTE..Grand Ole Opry Stars Of the Fifties and a12 volume video collection called CLASSICS..Grand Ole Opry Stars Of The Fifties. I have all 3 collections and this is where I learned most of my JUNE material so you may have access to it by way of you tube and be able to put it on your video of the week that way. I don't know...I can barely work youtube myself ! I do have other videos with a little more of JUNE in black & white with some different jokes on them so,.just let me know what you are looking for. "One more note here... msrobzombie. On the section where you play the old videos of June.. such as Today's, .IT'S MY LAZY DAYOk...one more lesson ! On most of June's material...she had what you call a STRAIGHT man. That could be anyone... but that person is the one she would feed off of.. BUT... SHE always delivers the punch line. For example on the one above...I did it like she did it with Carl Smith but she does it with others as well...for instance her sister Anita. She would then change the first 2 lines and start out by saying...Has anyone seen my sister Anita....I've got a bone to pick with her....OH ! ..... there she is ..... Anita would fall right in line and say.... Why.....what's wrong.....I got you a blind date last night. Then , JUNE would follow with....That's exactly what I'm talking about..... Then the 2 of them would do the same routine as above. OK... time for me to shut up ....I guess everyone knows how to do a JUNE routine by now as well as where my passion is ! Do you find this valuable? |

(June not Jennifer). To NOT know that would mean that you didn't know very much about June anyway ! Jennifer needs a lot of praise and recognition for what she did. That was no easy task....It took a long, long time ! I have done this myself. You have to play, pause, write, play, pause, write, back up, play, pause, write, back up again, play, pause, write over & over & over again ! So......
